Here I share all about what I am wearing, cooking, reading, traveling to, what's on my heart and mind. And trust me, I hold nothing back! I am so happy you are here!
Long time, no talk! I’m here to catch you up on all the things since the last time I posted here.
Spoiler: It’s a lot.
The last time we talked, we had just celebrated Easter and were heading full fledge into Spring. I love the arrival of a new season and welcomed Spring with open arms with all the sunshine and floral and great weather it had to offer us! We ended up taking a trip back to Broken Bow with our family, I offered Mommy & Me Photo Mini Sessions to be delivered in time for Mother’s Day, did a few floral pop-ups on our free weekends, had our first annual Family Fish Fry and officially started the “serious” looking for a home towards the end of April.
Backstory: we had been on the hunt for a house since before Delta was even born. It never really felt like the right time and we never found something we loved. On top of that, the last couple of years interest rates were sky high and we really couldn’t afford what we dreamed of one day having. Fast forward to me finding some lots of an acre+ with new builds about 10 minutes from where we currently live. Delta and I hopped in the car and went to see a few of them. Most of them were still in the framing stage, but it was easy for me to step in and get a feel for the layout and immediately know if it felt right or not. Low and behold, we visited one that I called Ranger right after and said, “I think this might be out of our budget, but I love it and really want you to come look at and maybe we just see if we can get pre-approved for it??”
I’m super “ya never know if ya don’t try!” And try we did 🙂 We got approved one day and were under contract within the week. We were on cloud nine. We had saved and Ranger had worked so, SO hard be able to pull something like this off for our first home! We have lived in an apartment for three years and it has been just fine for us, but adding a baby to the mix and now a toddler, we outgrew our little one bedroom QUICK. We were just beside ourselves with excitement and couldn’t even fathom what this amount of square feet of space would be like. We got giddy thinking about not having to share a bathroom with Delta, let alone a ROOM haha! It was on land and you could only see pasture when you looked out the front and the back windows. We would be the first family to live in this home and we felt so blessed that it was really going to be ours. It finally felt like what we had sacrificed and worked hard for the last few years was finally about to pay off.
….until Memorial Day Weekend came.
Stay tuned for Part 2!
